We have a small and informal gallery available for the small art group and solo exhibitions. Duration Typically an exhibition will run for three weeks, from Saturday to Saturday, during our normal opening hours of 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
Quantity We would require approximately 40-50 pieces of 'average' sized work ready to hang. This gives us enough work for a full wall display, window display, and some reserves to replace sales. We can erect a dividing screen should further hanging space be required. Ideally we would require browser work too (we reserve the right to backfill browsers with our own stock if necessary).
2D/3D Our gallery is best suited to 2D artwork due to the small floor area. Should an artist wish to hold a 3D exhbition, it is suggested that they hold a joint exhibition with a 2D artist with complimentary work. The artist would be expected to provide any required plinths. Promotion We will design your promotional material (fliers, invitations, posters etc.) and will organise any required printing. This we will charge back to the artist at cost price. We will promote the exhibition on our own web site and on local event web sites, plus submit details to local newspapers and magazines, although publication is never guaranteed. We will also e-mail our mailing list with details of the event.
Private View We will require the artist to hold a private view event at some time during the exhibition. This will normally be held outside of normal opening hours. We will provide drinks and snacks which will be charged back to the artist at cost price, with staff provided free of charge. We would expect the artist to invite as many friends, family and colleagues as possible. We will also invite a VIP subset of our mailing list. Most sales are generated at the private view event.
Costs We do not charge a rent for exhibitions. Instead, we ask that you host the private view and invite as many people as possible - this publicity is the only payback we require. Right to refuse As you would expect, we reserve the right to refuse an exhibition request should we think the work for display is unsuitable, offensive, not commercially saleable, or for other reasons that we need not divulge.
